Okay! Fun fact about me… I  have always loved food, cooking, and experimenting. When I first started college my cooking related passions got lost, between the late nights completing assignments and working, I really didn’t have the budget or time to focus on cooking.

Fast forward to December 2019, I finally graduated with my bachelors degree, and Covid-19 hits only a few short months later. Through stay at home orders and self quarantines my cooking exploration has grown 10 fold. And based on how many sourdough starter posts have filled my feed– I know I’m not the only one who has taken up baking as a hobby this year. So, if you know someone who has been baking up a storm in the kitchen check these ten gift ideas!

  1. Maldon Sea Salt Flakes. These are a necessity in every bakers kitchen! The large flakey salt bits elevate every recipe from brownies to breads alike!
  2. Nordic Ware Aluminum Baking Sheets. These baking sheets get used daily at my house, and are so versatile! They are long lasting and can be used for cakes cookies and really anything else you can think of!
  3. Food52 Batter Bowl. Not only is this mixing bowl super cute, but it has a pour spout! No need to worry about cake batter sloppily pouring over the sides of the bowl.
  4. Ozeri Kitchen Scale. During my baking hobby I have very quickly found that for consistent results there needs to be some level of precision. I use this kitchen scale for just about every recipe– even my morning lattes!
  5. Professional Series Kitchen Aid. This one is a no brainer! Not have to mix by hand not only saves your biceps but also speeds up the cooking process. *ALSO this unit will be on sale for over half-off at Best Buy on Black Friday 2020.
  6. Ceramic Bread Baking Crock. If your loved one has been making an abundance bread recently then this is the perfect gift for them! A bread bowl helps to mimic a brick oven resulting in a beautifully crispy loaf.
  7. Silpat Baking Mat. Have you ever used foil to bake cookies, only to have the cookies stick? These baking mats make that scenario a thing of the past. They are also reusable and make clean up super quick easy.
  8. Vanilla Extract Kit. Not all vanilla extract is made equal and often what you get at the store is a weak single fold extract. This kit gives you beans, a bottle, a label, and instructions to make your very own! You just need to provide the alcohol. *The longer the vanilla sits the better it is!
